C-1 type ring pulls

This week we got two shipments on the same day, one by Attila Deszi (germany) and one by Joske Raymakers (the Netherlands), both containing one or more C-1 type ring pulls. Every now and then people send me these, asking whether they count as pull tabs or not. Well, yes they do, as they are ‘devices with a tear strip opener’. However, they are not used on beverage cans and therefore are not shown on our world typology. They are in fact a crowncork subsitute, for bottles.

I think we have now 3 of these types in our database, designated C-1-1 to C-1-3 and this on on the picture is again slightly different, so might become No 4.
